  • The Pettisville Local School District passed its November 4, 2008 bond issue. The District is constructing a new, two-story 97,618 sf pre-school through grade 12 with a LEED Silver Certification. The new facility will provide larger, climate-controlled classrooms with appropriate air circulation and controlled CO2 levels, improved energy efficiency using a computerized energy usage system, a geothermal heating and cooling system, a state-of-the-art security system for enhanced security with video surveillance, computer wiring and wireless connectivity for each classroom, a new classroom communication system computerized classroom project screens, a 5,915 sf agriculture facility and green house, a gymnasium capable of being divided into two areas for physical education, a multi-purpose area for use as a cafeteria serving area and an auditorium with seating for 250-300 expandable to 500-600.

    A windmill project is being pursued for a wind powered turbine to provide a portion of the electric power for the new and existing facility. A $125,000 has been secured as part of the state capital project funding. More funds are being pursued
